Class Task:
Design a database or spreadsheet to record your
investigations of fashion worn by students at a mufti day. Use
this information as a starting point
to assist you in resolving the design and make task.
Background
Information:
Children love to get dressed up, making
statements about themselves. Are we influenced by many different
pressures to wear different types of clothing?
Design Brief:
As market researchers your group will use the
data from the database to design an item or outfit for a
particular age group in your school. You will need to consider the
trends you find in the data you have gathered. Present these
findings and your group's design as a PowerPoint presentation and
justify the
reasons for your choice of clothing.
Suggestions
for inclusion in your presentation:
-
Digital images of
students representing their age group
-
Video clips of
interviews with students expanding on the reason of choice of
clothing
-
Graph showing
relevant information to support your design of clothing for each
age group
-
Drawn image of the
outfits either from computer drawing or scan of a pencil
drawing.

Presentation:
Using the Edu Utility files named
fashion.mdb, fashion.ppt and fashion.xls can be placed in each
students work folder. The student files to complete their work. The
fashion.mdb, fashion.ppt and fashion.xls files are hyperlinked and can be
viewed in the web browser. This ensures all students have the
files saved in the correct folder.
