Introduction
Sydney Region OH&S Services provides support services to staff in eight School Networks (229 schools) and regional offices within the Sydney Region. Mr Phillip Quick, Acting OH&S Liaison Manager, is responsible for managing these services.
New OH&S Services Model
Sydney Region will implement State wide changes to Occupational Health and Safety support on Monday 25 October 2010. The changes aim to give a clearer focus to Injury Management and Occupational Health and Safety.
The new model replaces Staff Support Officers (SSO) with Injury Management Advisors (IMA) and OH&S Advisors (OHSA). The Sydney Region has appointed two of each and during the transitional arrangements the OHSA will be assisting with some injury management. The region has been divided into two teams - north and south, as follows:

Transitional Period
Sydney Region will transition into the new model on Monday 25 October 2010. These arrangements will continue until the end of Term 1, 2011 and be further reviewed.
During this transition period OH&S Advisors will continue to provide advice and support to schools on OH&S issues/concerns.
