Community Information Officers (CIOs) assist in facilitating communication and interaction between schools and communities from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

Two CIOs are employed in Sydney Region to support LBOTE parents positive engagement with their children's education and to strengthen the capacity of LBOTE communities (and their agencies).

Parents are supported to get involved in their school community, get informed about school expectations and requirements, and get active in supporting their child's learning.

Initiatives to support LBOTE parents are delivered in partnership with key stakeholders such as schools, community agencies, other government agencies and community leaders.

Equity programs regularly convenes a variety of advisory groups from key communities to maintain vehicles for strong communication and collaborative strategies.
